Cadillac has prepared to go on the offensive! The all new 2019 XT4 and CT6 just made their debuts at the New York Auto Show, and Cadillac promises they are the first of many new vehicles to come. Every 6 months, through 2021, Cadillac will be showcasing a new vehicle as they continue to overhaul the brand. They are also promising a new Halo car (will it be the Escala?), which Johan de Nysschen says will "stun the world!" He also promises that the 4.2L Twin Turbo V-8 engine found in the new CT6 V-Sport will find its way into more models in the future, which is an interesting piece of information to note. For now, we can only speculate what Cadillac is planning, but here is what we can discuss about the new XT4 that just debuted.
XT4
The XT4 may be Cadillac's smallest crossover to date, yet they have worked hard to not only get the looks right, but the overall package, design, comfort, and technology. The wheels are stretched towards the corners of the body, both for an athletic appearance and improved handling. The vehicle is powered by a 2.0L, 4 cylinder engine that outputs 237 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. It's mated to a 9 speed auto transmission and features stop start technology that can be turned off if desired.
As with any new caddy, loads of tech can be had, including rear park assist, lane change alert, blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, pedestrian braking, a rear camera mirror, and more. All models come standard with LED headlights and tail lights. The infotainment system features the newest version of Caddy's CUE system, and it shouldn't be as much of a headache to use as the last model. It can be controlled through a rotary knob or by physically touching the screen, whichever you choose. You can even get massaging seats for the first time, YES!
Pricing for the XT4 starts at $35,790, and can be had in 3 trim levels: Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport. The sport trim, featured above, has a special active sport suspension system in addition to a unique grill, wheels, and interior options. Look for the XT4 in Cadillac showrooms this fall!
